What a row cap folder does.
A row cap folder forms and positions the cap that finishes a sewn row or edge, folding a capping strip over the row so the machine sews a clean, covered finish across it. It is a specialty finishing folder for products that need a raw or bulky row of material capped and closed rather than left exposed.
Row cap folders are sized to the cap width and the material being capped, and they hold the capping strip aligned over the row through the sewing pass. The fold and alignment matter because a cap that shifts leaves the row it was meant to cover partly exposed, defeating the purpose of the operation.
